Lesson Plan on Global Sustainability:
From You to the UN

This new lesson plan is for English and Social Studies teachers who want to inform their students about the United Nations, youth activism and creating a sustainable future economically and environmentally.

The week-long plan will cover the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Using sources such as teenage activist Greta Thunberg’s speech to the UN and the UN’s “Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World,” students will learn to construct informed opinions on why sustainability matters and how we can accomplish it.

By the end of the week, pairs of students will take ownership of one Sustainable Development Goal by creating a presentation to teach the SDG to the rest of the class.
